30% deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 30% is due before we order components or begin build planning. It covers sourcing, allocation and the initial work reserved for your system.
Legal information / 01
Clear terms protect both of us. These custom PC build terms set out what happens when you ask Blackwell's Builds to source parts, build a system, improve an existing machine or install a custom cooling loop.
Effective date: 21 February 2025
01 / THE STARTING POINT
These terms apply to every quotation, order and service supplied by Blackwell's Builds from High Lane, Sheffield. They cover custom gaming PC builds, gaming laptops, component sourcing, system optimisation, upgrades, thermal work and custom water cooling.
“We”, “us” and “our” mean Blackwell's Builds. “You” and “your” mean the customer named on the quotation. A contract starts when you accept our quotation and we confirm the work in writing.
Each custom system is made to your selected specification. It is a made-to-order service, so the finished computer may differ from an off-the-shelf product in its parts, appearance and delivery date.
Plain point
Ask before you approve.
If a specification, price or responsibility is unclear, contact us before paying a deposit. UK consumer rights remain in place and are not affected by these terms.
02 / MONEY AND APPROVAL
A quotation remains open for 14 days unless it states a different period. Component prices and stock can change before approval, so we confirm the final specification and price when you place the order.
A non-refundable deposit of 30% is due before we order components or begin build planning. It covers sourcing, allocation and the initial work reserved for your system.
The remaining balance is due once the build is complete and before delivery or collection. We can hold the machine until cleared payment is received.
Changes requested after approval may alter the price and estimated completion date. We will confirm the change before carrying it out. If a selected component becomes unavailable, we will suggest a comparable replacement for your approval.
03 / HANDOVER AND COVER
The usual build estimate is 2–3 weeks from receipt of the deposit. This depends on component availability, supplier delays, approved changes and the complexity of the work. We will tell you if the estimate moves.
Build time
2–3 weeks
The estimate starts after the deposit and approved specification are in place.
Testing
24-hour stress test
We test stability and thermals before handover, then tell you the result.

Courier or collection
Delivery uses an insured courier. Collection is arranged from High Lane.
Our workmanship is covered for 2 years from handover. Component faults are handled under the relevant manufacturer's warranty where that warranty applies. We will help identify the fault and manage the next step with you.
Warranty work does not cover damage caused by misuse, liquid contact outside an agreed cooling installation, unauthorised alterations, unsuitable software changes, poor storage or normal wear. Keep your proof of purchase and contact us before sending a system for inspection.
Risk passes to you when you or your nominated person takes possession. For courier delivery, inspect the packaging promptly and report visible damage with photographs. Collection requires the remaining balance to be paid and a suitable vehicle or carrying arrangement.
04 / CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer-supplied components must be new or fully tested before installation. Give us accurate details about their age, condition and previous use. We may decline a part that creates a safety, compatibility or reliability concern.
Water-cooling work needs accurate information about the case, fittings, pump, radiators and coolant. We will flag access, clearance and maintenance issues before the loop is assembled.
05 / BEFORE YOU AGREE
Ask us to clarify a clause before you accept a quotation. Send terms queries to [email protected] or speak with Blackwell's Builds on +44 7911 084 796.
These terms are intended for legal review before publication. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer are not affected.
